On Saturday, November 15th, the Alpha Theta Xi chapter at Pellissippi did a litter clean up and daffodil bulbs planting at the Alcoa Duck Pond.  This location was selected after members took pictures of areas in the members' zip code and the photos were evaluated for litter.  They collected 6 partial bags of garbage when combined filled up a overstuffed 33-gallon trash bag.  They planted 75 daffodil bulbs in a place where garbage once lived.

February 14 and 18, 2008 Beta Kappa Theta members on the Columbia campus sponsored a 2-day bake sale and raised $300 for Invisible Children, an American-based non-profit organization of young people who work to raise awareness of the ongoing tragedy in Uganda where children have been displaced from their families and, in many cases, forced to fight in the civil war taking place. On February 19, Phi Theta Kappa hosted representatives from the Invisible Children organization on the Columbia campus where they made presentations before more than 200 students in six classes and screened their latest documentary for 160 students in the Cherry Theatre.
